Hi, my name is Elizabeth Hoover de Galvez, and I am a student in the School
of Library and Information Science at the University of Iowa. My professional
interests include digital libraries and public libraries, with a focus on Health
Information and the Biological Sciences.
I started my Masters of Arts in Library and Information Science in June of
2007 and I plan to graduate in December of 2008. Each semester I will be
working on a digital librarianship project as an Institute of Museum and
Library Services (IMLS) fellow. You can read my blog about the projects I am involved with or
more about the IMLS Fellowship by following the links.
In addition, my husband and I own a business, Galvez & Hoover Services, which includes
PRESSIA (a Latino news agency), El Trueque (a Latino magazine and community website),
and DILO (the Directory of Iowa Latino Organizations). I am always looking for ways to apply
my skills in Digital Librarianship to these services for Latinos. Please explore my website and
send me your comments via the contact me link. I look forward to hearing from you.
